The Harpo Foundation was established in 2006 to support artists who are underrecognized by their fields. The foundation seeks to stimulate creative inquiry and to encourage new modes of thinking about art.
To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for its Grants for Visual Artists program. Through the annual program, direct support grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to underrecognized artists 21 years or older.
To be eligible, applicants must be a self-defined underrecognized visual artist 21 years or older and a citizen of United States.
The foundation will begin accepting applications on February 27, 2017. There is a $15 application fee.
For complete program guidelines, information about previous grant recipients, and application instructions, see the Harpo Foundation website.
