In 2017, the Artist Trust will award GAP (Grants for Artist Projects) grants of $1,500 to sixty Washington State artists working in any discipline.
Examples of eligible artist projects include but are not limited to materials, equipment, and artist fees needed for the development, completion, or presentation of new work; publication expenses; travel for creative research; documentation; and professional development workshops. In addition to the sixty GAP recipients, one artist will be awarded a residency at Centrum, a multidisciplinary arts center in Port Townsend, Washington, and one Media or Performance artist will be invited to show their work at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle as part of the Seattle Theater Group Nights at the Neptune summer series.
The program is open to individual generative artists and artist teams working in any creative discipline and residing in Washington State. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older; Washington State residents at the time of application and payment (payment may be made up to one year after the application date); and a generative artist (i.e., the originator of works of art).
The Artist Trust will begin accepting applications to the program on March 27, 2017. Applications must be received no later than May 15, 2017.
See the Artist Trust website for complete program guidelines, an FAQ, application instructions, and information about the Centrum residency and Neptune summer series.
