Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation Accepting LOIs for 2017 Grant Cycle

Administered by the Scranton Area Foundation, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation was established in 2011 following the sale of Mercy Hospital and is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the people of the region, particularly those who are vulnerable and/or underserved.

To that end, the foundation is inviting Letters of Intent for its 2017 Grant Cycle. Through the program, grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations for projects designed to support health and wellness initiatives serving the people of Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming counties. Grant amounts will be determined on a project-by-project basis.

The foundation encourages collaborative projects where several organizations look at solving a specific problem or issue; projects serving all three counties (Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming); and organizations showing multiple funding sources on their applications.

LOIs must be received no later than June 1, 2017. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by August 1, 2017.

For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the NPHCF website.
