Founded in 1997, the Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation helps underprivileged youth reach their full potential by supporting innovative youth-serving organizations.
To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for innovative programs which share that goal. Grants of $20,000 will be awarded for "new, uncommon, unconventional, or untested" youth programs that identify new, effective practices that lead to breakthrough results for underprivileged youth. In the past, funded programs have ranged from credit union savings projects, intensive tutoring programs, and afterschool daycare to art programs, neighborhood tour guides, and health-related workshops.
To be eligible, organizations must be considered tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and serve youth in the greater metropolitan areas of Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Milwaukee, and Washington, D.C.
See the Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation website for complete program guidelines and pre-application instructions.
