The Jared Polis Foundation is committed to enhancing technology-learning opportunities for children in Colorado. Through its partnership with the Community Computer Connection, computers donated by individuals and corporations are refurbished and distributed to schools and nonprofits for a small administrative fee. The foundation has created a technology mini-grant program to enhance and expand the utility of these computers or other existing classroom technology.
Mini-grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded for the purchase of hardware such as digital or video cameras, interactive whiteboards, interactive response systems, tablets, e-readers, and chromebooks; for the purchase of software; or for technology conference registration fees. Teacher-applicants can request tablets and chromebooks but not wi-fi access or capital improvements to support technology.
Applicants must be a teacher in a Colorado public school and request technology for themselves only. The technology requested must be used by the teacher applying for it.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, as well as information about grant recipients from previous years, see the Polis Foundation website.
