Jim Joseph Foundation Issues RFP for Leadership Development Program for Jewish Educators

The mission of the Jim Joseph Foundation is to foster compelling, effective Jewish learning experiences for young Jews in the United States.

To advance this mission, the foundation has begun to structure a framework for funding a new set of investments in current and future leaders in Jewish education, with the initial overarching goal of learning more about the field of Jewish leadership and developing greater clarity around the most effective ways to invest in the field.

To expand its portfolio of existing leadership grants, the foundation will fund up to six additional programs over three years through a single funding cycle.

The initiative will include support for the training of current or future leaders of Jewish education organizations serving one more of the foundation's target audiences (i.e., teens, college students, young adults, and families with young children,) or programs training current or future leaders who are themselves members of one or more of these target audiences; support for programs that offer training in general leadership development, management skills, and/or technical knowledge; and an external evaluation of the funded initiative.

The foundation welcomes proposals for programs that have a proven track record of training current or future leaders in Jewish education organizations serving one more of the foundation's target audiences; demonstrate evidence of strong professional and lay leadership; expand the pipeline of talent able to fill leadership positions within the field of Jewish education; increase retention and advancement of Jewish education leaders; and reach professional and/or volunteer leaders at various stages of their careers (early-career, mid-career, and veteran leaders).

To be eligible, applicants must be organizations must be a registered 501(c)(3) operating within the United States.

Letters of Interest of Interest must be received no later than May 10, 2017. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
