Turnaround Management Association is a community of professionals who work with companies to improve their performance, manage disruption, restructure, work through insolvency, preserve equity, and drive significantly improved results.
Each year, the organization accepts nominations for its annual Butler-Cooley Excellence in Teaching Awards Program. Established in 2004 with a grant from the John Wm. Butler Foundation, the program honors teachers who have demonstrated and ability to change students lives and the communities where they teach.
The award consists of a $5,000 cash prize and covers up to $1,000 in travel costs, hotel arrangements, and meals while on-site for the TMA annual meeting, October 23-25, 2017, at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. TMA will present two prizes at the meeting and distribute news releases about the winners to local and national news media outlets.
To be eligible, nominees must be a licensed and active elementary or secondary (K-12) classroom teacher; teach at an accredited public or private school; possess at least five years of teaching experience; and have instructed students the equivalent of twenty hours per week during a nine-month academic calendar year for at least five of the prior seven years.
For complete program guidelines and nomination instructions, see the TMA website.
