The James Thorpe Foundation is accepting applications from organizations for programs aimed at helping seniors live engaged and independent lives.
The foundation supports in-home and community-based services designed to help seniors remain in their own homes, including social and recreational opportunities for seniors that reduce isolation and improve quality of life as well as transportation services that reduce barriers to independence and social engagement.
Recent grant amounts have ranged between $5,000 and $10,000.
To be eligible, applicants must be recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and be located in and serving the City of Minneapolis and its western suburbs. The foundation limits its support to organizations with an operating budget of $3 million or less.
See the Thorpe Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions, as well as information about previously awarded grants.
