Established in 1992 as the charitable arm of Minnesota-based Medica Health Plans, the Medica Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable grantmaking foundation for community-based programs and services. As such, the foundation funds community-based initiatives and programs that support the needs of Medica Health Plans customers and the greater community by improving their health and removing barriers to healthcare services.
To advance this mission, the foundation is inviting applications through its Non-Profit Core Mission Program, which supports small community health organizations in the regional and rural areas located beyond the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in support of health-related programming that is core to the organization’s mission.
To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit organization located in a rural region of the Medica service area in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin. Minnesota applicants must be located outside the seven-county Twin Cities metro area, which includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.
Applications will be accepted between June 1 and August 25, 2017.
