Silicon Valley Donors Circle Issues Accepting Applications for Arts Projects

The Donor Circle for the Arts, a component fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, has awarded more than $584,800 to emerging arts organizations in the Silicon Valley region since its inception in 2008. Its mission is simple: to support emerging artists working with underserved populations, and to expand arts opportunities for the diverse cultural communities of our region.

As part of this mission, the Donor Circle is accepting applications for music, dance, visual arts, media arts, and literary arts projects.

To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization or individual artist with a nonprofit fiscal sponsor; be based in Santa Clara or San Mateo counties; have an annual budget of $1 million or less; and serve an underserved population with an activity that is more substantive than simply donating tickets to underserved groups. If the organization’s main mission does not serve an underserved population, then the grant for which they apply must be designated to a specific project that does.

Application deadlines vary depending on artistic genre: music (June 13); dance (September 12); visual arts (February 13, 2018); media arts (June 12, 2018); and literary arts (September 11, 2018).

See the Donor Circle for the Arts website for complete guidelines and application instructions.
