Chesapeake Bay Trust Accepting Applications for Outreach and Restoration Projects in Maryland

The Chesapeake Bay Trust, in partnership with the City of Baltimore Department of Public Works, the Charles County Watershed Protection and Restoration Program, the City of Gaithersburg, and Howard County, is accepting applications for its Outreach and Restoration Grant Program.

The program encourages outreach and community engagement activities that increase stewardship ethic vis-a-vis natural resources and on-the-ground restoration activities that demonstrate restoration techniques and engage Maryland citizens in the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers. The program funds projects in partner areas as well as throughout Maryland.

Applicants can request funds from one of the following tracks: Outreach, Restoration, and Outreach and Restoration.

1) Outreach: Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded for projects focused on education and awareness as project outcomes.

2) Restoration: Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded for implementation projects.

3) Outreach and Restoration: Grants of up to $75,000 will be awarded for projects that combine restoration and outreach elements designed to measurably build knowledge within the community served.

The program is open to nonprofit organizations, community associations, and faith-based organizations.
