AAP Foundation Accepting Applications for Visiting Scholar Education Grants

The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation established the Finley Visiting Scholar Education Grants program to honor the memory of Dr. Charles W. Finley and all the great periodontal leaders of the past, present, and future.

To that end,  the program awards grants of up to $2,000 to accredited U.S. periodontal programs to help offset costs assocuated with honoraria, travel, promotion, and seminars involving speakers in periodontology. The grants must be matched by funds from the department or institution. Although the speakers are expected to spend the majority of their time with the periodontics department — both students and faculty — the grant requires that the speaker present a formal program to the faculty and students of the institution on a subject of interest to the entire dental institution.

To be eligible, applicants must be an accredited U.S. periodontal program.

See the AAP Foundation website for complete program guidelines, information about past recipients, and application instructions.
