The Fleishhacker Foundation is accepting applications for its Education Grants program, which focuses on funding literacy, a core competency that affects the future educational and life opportunities of each child; helping students who are behind, or in danger of falling behind, in their reading and writing skills; and supporting disadvantaged students, primarily those attending public schools, in achieving grade-level competency.
Through the program, grants will be made to nonprofit community-based organizations that provide direct literacy services to students. Priority will be given to school-day classroom-based programs, and those serving a significant number of students.
Letters of Inquiry must be received no later than December 15, 2017. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by January 15, 2018.
See the Fleishhacker Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application procedures.
