Victor Pinchuk Foundation Accepting Applications to Its WorldWideStudies Scholarship Program

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has announced the launch of its ninth WorldWideStudies education program competition.

Since 2009, the program has enabled talented Ukrainian students and young professionals to receive grants to enroll in master's programs at any of the top two hundred universities in the world. The goal of the program is to create a group of professionals capable of becoming a driving force in the transformation of Ukraine.

Support is provided for applicants pursuing study in the following fields, which are especially important for Ukraine’s development: agriculture, aerospace engineering, alternative energies, public administration, public law, environment, and ecology. The foundation may consider applications in other fields but potential candidates have to provide a convincing rationale to support studies in the chosen specialty. All grant recipients must agree to return to Ukraine and work in their chosen field of study for at least five years upon graduation.

Grants must be used primarily to cover university tuition fees, books, and medical insurance. Grant amounts will be determined for each individual case based on personal needs and merit. Most grants will cover up to 60 percent of the total amount required but not more than $30,000 for the overall period of study (1-2 years). Students will have to cover the rest of the expenses with personal funds or additional scholarships.

To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen of Ukraine and under the age of 35 on the date of enrollment; have a bachelor's or higher degree in the field required by the master's program; be admitted to the master's program of their chosen university outside of Ukraine (formally certified) and be ready to start education in the autumn of 2018; have a clear plan for applying the acquired knowledge and skills in Ukraine; and be committed to work in Ukraine in the specialty acquired.

See the Victor Pinchuk Foundation for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
