Jared Polis Foundation Accepting Applications to Enhance Donated-Technology Program in Colorado

The Jared Polis Foundation is committed to enhancing technology learning opportunities for children in Colorado. Through its partnership with the Community Computer Connection, computers donated by individuals and corporations are refurbished and distributed to schools and nonprofits for a small administrative fee. The foundation has created a technology mini-grant program to enhance and expand the utility of these computers or other existing classroom technology.

Grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded for hardware such as digital or video cameras, interactive whiteboards, and interactive response systems; tablets, e-readers, and chromebooks; or to purchase software, technology curricula, or pay technology conference registration fees.

Teacher applicants can request tablets and chromebooks but may not request wi-fi access or capital improvements to support technology. Teachers in Colorado can also request technology for themselves. (The technology requested must be used by the teacher applying for it.) Teachers, not technology specialists, coordinators or grant writers, are invited to apply.
