The ASPEN Rhoads Research Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, is dedicated to improving patient care by advancing the science and practice of clinical nutrition and metabolism. Founded in 1976, ASPEN is an interdisciplinary organization whose members are involved in the provision of clinical nutrition therapies, including parenteral and enteral nutrition. With more than sixty-five hundred members from around the world, ASPEN is a community of dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, scientists, students, and other health professionals from every facet of nutrition support clinical practice, research, and education.

Through the annual program, grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded for research projects by early-career investigators focused on clinical nutrition and metabolic support in alignment with the priorities outlined in the ASPEN Research Agenda.

To be eligible, applicants must be within ten years of completing a terminal research degree or medical residency (or the equivalent); be at or below the rank of assistant professor; and commit at least 20 percent of their time to research in a professional institute that conducts nutrition research.
