The Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley creates and manages a permanent endowment fund in support of grantmaking explicitly for women and girls; leads the way in funding and advocating for programs that support growth and economic self-sufficiency for women; and models equitable partnerships that encourage diversity and inclusivity. Since 1994 the foundation has invested more than $1 million to community programs that give a hand up to women and their families who are struggling.
In 2018, the foundation will consider programs that support women's progress toward economic self-sufficiency and have the highest likelihood of having a direct positive impact on the economic status of women.
Limited purchases of equipment will be considered, but only if the expense is directly related to program provision and is not incurred for administrative or organizational staff purposes. The foundation does not award grants to individuals or endowments or for religious or political purposes, nor does it fund capital expenses.
To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit (501(c)(3) organization located in Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Genesee, Orleans, Yates, or Livingston counties in New York State and serve women or girls within those counties.
See the Women's Foundation website for complete program guidelines for complete program guidelines, an FAQ, and application instructions.
