The James Thorpe Foundation is accepting applications from organizations for programs that help seniors live engaged and independent lives. To that end, the foundation supports in-home and community-based services that help seniors remain in their own homes, including social and recreational opportunities for seniors that reduce isolation and improve quality of life and transportation services that reduce barriers to independence and social engagement.
Recent grants have ranged between $5,000 and $10,000.
To be eligible, applicants must be recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and be located in and serving the City of Minneapolis and its western suburban communities. Note: the foundation limits its support to organizations with operating budgets of $3 million or less.
See the Thorpe Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions, as well as information about previously awarded grants.
