The Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit publicly funded charity whose mission is to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia so that each child is afforded their best opportunity to develop speech and communication.
CASANA is accepting applications for its 2018 Tablets for Apraxia program, which supports the supervised use of tablets to enhance speech practice, serve as a communication means, and provide incentive for speech practice.
Beginning in 2018, there will be two speech tablet options available: (1) an iPad with case; and (2) the Tobii-Dynavox Indi with case and the Snap + Core First app installed.
To qualify, children must be between the ages of 3 and 18, and be living in the United States or Canada. Children also must have a formal diagnosis of childhood apraxia from a speech language pathologist and currently be participating in speech therapy. In addition, applicants must be the parents or guardians of the child. The child's family also must meet CASANA's financial requirements to be eligible.
See the CASANA website for complete program guidelines, financial requirements, and application instructions.
