The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is seeking applications for its 2018 Sports Award, which recognizes sports teams, athletes, and community-based organizations that use sports to catalyze and sustain changes that will make communities healthier places to live, learn, work, and play.
The foundation will consider applications in three categories: 1) a professional sports team community relations department or foundation based in the United States or Canada; 2) an individual athlete or professional coach's foundation based in the United States or Canada; and 3) an organization in the United States or Canada that is an influential leader and model for improving community health through sports.
Each category winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize; broad promotion of its story and success; and an opportunity to engage with other community leaders at RWJF headquarters during a private ceremony.
RWJF will be hosting an information session on May 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the RWJF website.
