Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation Accepting Applications for Youth Development and Education Initiatives

The Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation is dedicated to improving outcomes for Oregon children, pre-K to 12th grade, by advancing youth development and education initiatives. It recognizes the strong connection between educational attainment and economic prosperity and knows that the future health of its communities depends on investments made today.

To that end, the foundation is accepting applications to its Impact Grant program.

Impact Grants are multiyear commitments focused on family financial health, housing stability for families with children, and career and college readiness. In seeking new nonprofit partners, the foundation has identified three key areas of impact critical to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty and building stronger, more prosperous communities for the next generation.

1) Housing Stabilization for Families With Children: Access to affordable housing is a challenge for many families in the areas served by the foundation, which believes that stable, safe housing is a key factor in a child's success later in life.

2) Family Financial Health: Financial education for families can help break cycles of poverty, providing parents and children with the tools to build a better future.

3) Career and College Readiness: Teens and young adults from all backgrounds need access to the training and resources that will prepare them for college and a career in tomorrow’s dynamic economy.

Eligible applicants include Oregon nonprofit organizations in communities served by Umpqua Bank that track the progress of their constituents over time in order to measure their success. Candidate organizations also should offer innovative, forward-thinking programming that is ready to scale for growth. The ideal partners are organizations for which a significant long-term investment will provide the push they need to expand and maximize their impact.

Letters of Intent must be received no later than June 29. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by July 27, 2018.

See the Umpqua Bank website for a complete program description, brief profiles of previous grant recipients, and the online application form.
