The Women's Fund for Greater Birmingham invests in innovative programs that move women and their children in the Greater Birmingham area beyond poverty.
To advance this mission, the fund has issued a Request for Proposals for its 2018 Economic Opportunity for Women and Their Children program.
In 2018, the fund will award grants of up to $50,000 to nonprofit organizations for programs that strengthen the economic security of single women and their children. Priority will be given to two-generation collaborative efforts focused on postsecondary education and/or job training with wraparound support services in the metro area that includes Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker counties. Programs must serve single women and their children with a household income below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
To be eligible, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization located within the foundation's five-county service area (Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, St. Clair, and Blount counties).
The fund will begin accepting applications on July 27, 2018.
See the Women's Fund for complete program guidelines and proposal submission procedures.
