The American Chemical Society is inviting nominations for its Robert M. Scarborough Graduate/Postgraduate Award for Excellence in Medicinal Chemistry.
Awarded through the ACS Division of Medicinal Chemistry, the annual award is intended to recognize two current graduate students and/or postdoctoral researchers who have played a leading role in scientific discoveries that have enhanced the field of medicinal chemistry. The awardees will be invited to present an award address at the fall national meeting of the American Chemical Society and will receive a commemorative plaque and $3,500 honorarium.
To be eligible, candidates must be a current graduate student or postdoctoral researcher at an academic institution or private or government research foundation and have played a key role in and contribution to a research project with direct medicinal chemistry applications and relevance. Nominees are expected to have demonstrated creativity and insight in medicinal chemistry and/or biology and possess pragmatic, empirical problem-solving skills.
