The American Academy of Periodontology is accepting applications for its SUNSTAR Innovation grant program.
Through the program, a $30,000 grant will be awarded in support of research that aims to identify novel and innovative evidence-based periodontal treatment approaches to patient care. Projects must address innovative treatments and serve to alleviate the high burden of periodontitis on the U.S. population; support interdisciplinary approaches that focus on preserving the patient’s natural dentition, particularly among patients at risk; and/or support novel approaches aimed at achieving patient compliance using modern, evidence-based diagnostics and modern patient education tools during and between dental visits.
In addition to the funds, the recipient will be invited to present his/her research at a future AAP annual meeting.
To be eligible, applicants must be an AAP member in good standing.
See the American Academy of Periodontology website for a complete program description and application instructions.
