The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health works to advance recovery and wellness in Texas by funding mental health services, policy analysis, research, and public education.
As part of this mission, the foundation is accepting applications for its Frances Fowler Wallace Memorial Award, which provides financial assistance in support of doctoral dissertation research on the causes, treatments, and prevention of mental disease, mental illness, and mental disorders. The award provides up to $1,500 for research-related expenses such as survey mailings, software purchases, participant stipends, and training.
Doctoral students at the University of Texas at Austin are eligible to apply. Applicants must plan to conduct a rigorous dissertation that advances the donor's wishes to study the causes, treatments for, and prevention of mental disease, mental illness, and mental disorders. In addition, applicants must have successfully defended their dissertation proposal by the time of application.
See the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
