The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications for Teacher Coursework scholarships from prospective middle school math teachers.
The purpose of the program is to provide financial support to college or university students preparing for a career as a teacher of middle school mathematics. One scholarship with a maximum value of $3,000 will be awarded to a person currently completing his/her junior year of college or university and pursuing a career goal of becoming a certified teacher of middle school mathematics.
Scholarship funds can be applied to tuition, fees, course materials, and other expenses directly related to the recipient’s program of study. Any acquisition of equipment must support the applicant’s plan of study but not require more than 10 percent, or $300, of the scholarship.
See the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics website for complete program guidelines, information about past recipients, and application instructions.
