The Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program is one of the Lilly Endowment’s longest standing programs and began as a way to help Indiana public school teachers renew their commitment to teaching. Since it began in 1987, the program has expanded its eligibility to educators in private and parochial schools, to principals and assistant principals, and to school counselors and media specialists. The aim behind the program is to recognize, re-energize, and support educators in Indiana.
The fellowship enables educators to pursue their dreams and passions, explore new areas of interest, and develop new and existing talents. Renewal projects are not intended to be vacations, but instead are meant to be intentional experiences that restore educators’ enthusiasm for their profession and stimulate their creativity, in turn enhancing the educational experiences of their students.
Full-time education professionals in Indiana’s public, private, and parochial schools — including K-12 classroom teachers of all subjects, principals and assistant principals, librarians and media specialists, school counselors, and school social workers — are eligible to apply.
Applications are due September 3, 2019, by 8:00 p.m. All applications must be submitted online through the application form on the Lilly Endowment website. The endowment expects to announce recipients of the 2020 fellowship no later than February 28, 2020.
