Background

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) is Santa Barbara County's sole professional theater, now in its 42nd season. Operating out of the state-of-the-art 300-seat New Vic, ETC presents five main stage productions per season. Education outreach programs include a Young Actors Conservatory, a Young Playwrights Program, student matinees and in-school workshops. ETC rents its venue to other local arts groups and non-profits. ETC operates under agreements with Actors' Equity, Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, and United Scenic Artists.

Job Summary

Director of Marketing and Public Relations is a full-time year-round senior level position, responsible for promotion of ETC's work, development and growth of ETC's constituency, oversight of all public relations, and increase in ETC's national profile.

Reports To

Artistic Director

Responsibilities

Development of annual marketing and sales strategies; overseeing creation and distribution of season brochures, programs, print and digital ads, press releases, e-newsletters and other marketing materials; expanding ETC's social media presence; website maintenance; and creating new forms of community engagement and audience development.

Qualifications

Minimum of four years' arts marketing experience, preferably in theater, and excellent communication, writing, and computer skills. Experience with Tessitura a plus.

Compensation

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, and includes participation in group health care and pension plans.
