The Institute for Citizens & Scholars (formerly the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation) has announced its 2021 cohort of Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders.
Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the awards provide support for junior faculty who are committed to the creation of an inclusive campus community for underrepresented students and scholars and whose research focuses on contemporary American history, politics, culture, and society. Each of the eleven early-career professors will receive a one-year stipend of $17,500 while working toward tenure.
Research topics pursued by this year's awardees include human trafficking, violence in policing, and the impact of racial and ethnic disparities on cognitive function in older adults.
