Carnegie Corporation awards $13.5 million in 1Q grants

The Carnegie Corporation of New York has announced first-quarter grants totaling more than $13.5 million.

Grants awarded through the foundation's International Program include $295,000 over two years to the National Committee on American Foreign Policy in support of international dialogue and outreach on security challenges in northeast Asia; $300,000 over two years to the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center for research and education on emerging proliferation challenges; and $690,000 over two years to the Henry L. Stimson Center in support of international peace and security projects.

Grants awarded through the foundation's National Program include $1.1 million over two years to CityBridge Education in support of innovative school development and the CityWorks initiative; $500,000 over eighteen months to the Bank Street College of Education in support of its efforts to improve access to and the quality of early childhood education; $300,000 to Springboard Collaborative for continued development of the Connect family engagement app and organizational capacity-building initiatives; and $500,000 over two years to the KIPP Foundation.
