The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties has appointed Renee Constantino as vice president for community investment and Kati Erickson as development manager.


Pillars of Peace Hawai'i, an initiative of Hawai'i Community Foundation, will host three members of the Elders, a group of prominent world leaders, MidWeek reports. The group includes former prime minister of Norway Gro Harlem Brundtland; lawyer/pro-democracy campaigner and Pakistan women's movement leader Hina Jilani; and Nobel Peace laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu. During their visit to Honolulu, August 29-31, the trio will address issues of peace, compassion, and ethical leadership.


Scotts Miracle-Gro and the Columbus Foundation have announced that grants of up to $4,000 are available through the ScottsMiracle-Gro Community Garden Academy fund to help communities in Franklin County create gardens and green spaces. The deadline to apply is September 26.

The Richland County Foundation in Mansfield has announced more than $232,000 in grants from donor-advised and -designated funds. Recipients include Friendly House, Mansfield Malabar School, Neos Dance Group, and Richland Academy of the Arts.


The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation in Warrenton has announced that it is merging with the Culpepper Foundation. In addition to Culpepper County, NPCF also serves Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock counties.


The Community Foundation of North Central Washington in Wenatchee has announced the five finalists for a $50,000 endowment grant: the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, Numerica Performing Arts Center, the NCW Business Loan Fund, Wenatchee Valley YMCA, and the Women's Resource Center. Each applicant provided responses to the foundation's questions about various operating aspects of their organizations, including service to community, financial stability, strategic planning, fundraising capacity, the impact an endowment fund would make on their organization, and plans for growth. Before the winner is announced on September 17, the finalists will participate in an in-depth interview with a team of foundation staff and board members.
