The Los Angeles-based Eisner Foundation has announced fourth-quarter grants totaling $925,000 to local nonprofits.
The general operating support grants include an award of $125,000 to CASA of Los Angeles in support of its efforts to recruit volunteer court advocates, many of them older adults, to serve more than fourteen hundred children in the child welfare system; an award of $550,000 over two years to Encore.org in support of the organization's efforts to advance intergenerational connection and collaboration; an award of $150,000 to GOALS in support of a program that combines athletics and afterschool educational enrichment for low-income youth; and an award of $100,000 to the Bresee Foundation in support of its efforts to create mentorship opportunities for seniors and youth and skills enrichment programming.
"These longtime partners of the Eisner Foundation have done an exceptional job serving their communities during this critical time," said Eisner Foundation CEO Trent Stamp. "We're proud to support their efforts leveraging intergenerational solutions to help those in need."
