The William, Jeff and Jennifer Gross Family Foundation in Laguna Beach, California, has announced that it awarded grants totaling $17 million in 2020.

Local recipients of COVID-19 relief grants include the Second Harvest Food BankOrange County Food Bank, the Laguna Food Pantry, and United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

PIMCO co-founder William Gross established the foundation with his children following his divorce from Sue J. Gross, with whom he previously created the William and Sue Gross Family Foundation.

"Jennifer, Jeff, and I have tried this year to identify and support organizations doing their best to bring relief and assistance during the pandemic," said Gross, who signed the Giving Pledge in January. "I believe in donating to where it can do the most good, when it is most needed. Whether it is restaurant employees, domestic workers, or unemployed musicians, anyone affected by the pandemic, whether directly or indirectly, deserves assistance to help get through this challenging time."
