Morgan Stanley has announced grants totaling $10 million to the National Urban League in support of efforts to strengthen financial literacy, workforce development, and access to capital in disadvantaged communities.
The funding will expand three initiatives: infrastructure support for NUL's Urban Empowerment Fund, credit union, and financial literacy and homeowner counseling programs; the organization's Workforce Development Program, with a focus on broadband access initiatives aimed at communities and households that lack affordable high-speed Internet connections; and a four-year internship program in NUL's Office of the President.
"We are proud to further our commitment to our longstanding partner the National Urban League to support underserved communities that have disproportionally been impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic and its economic consequences," said Morgan Stanley vice chair Thomas R. Nides. "This funding will help maximize the positive impact of the NUL on the communities it serves."
