The Philadelphia-based National Constitution Center has announced the formation of a board of advisors for its Peter Jennings Project for Journalists and the Constitution.
The board will include veteran news anchor and Discovery Channel managing editor Ted Koppel, U.S. Representative John Lewis (D-GA), Knight Foundation president and CEO Alberto Ibargen, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Harvard Law School dean Elena Kagan. The center also announced that the initiative, which will include an annual conference, will be managed by project director Todd Brewster.
"We are honored to have these extraordinary men and women lend their expertise to this important initiative," said Constitution Center president and CEO Joseph M. Torsella. "Their background, perspective, and wisdom will help us shape an experience that will become a defining moment in the lives of the professionals and students who participate in these conferences each year."
Named in honor of the late ABC news anchor and funded by the Annenberg Foundation, the project is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the Constitution and its role in American society.
