Stavros Niarchos Foundation Awards $12.6 Million in Grants

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has announced sixty-seven grants totaling €11.3 million ($12.6 million) to organizations in Greece and around the world.

In the area of arts and culture, the foundation awarded seventeen grants in support of creative initiatives focused on accessibility, education, and the promotion of Greek culture. Recipients include Artists for Humanity in Boston, ArtPlace America in New York City, and New Stage in Athens. In the area of education, the foundation awarded fifteen grants to support the implementation of various research and educational initiatives and is providing infrastructure-related funding to a number of organizations and institutions in Greece and elsewhere. Recipients include the Artos Zois Foundation in Athens, the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Reload Greece Foundation in London.

In addition, the foundation awarded eighteen grants in the area of health and sports to provide for facility upgrades at hospitals, to address critical healthcare issues, and to promote the importance of sports in achieving healthier lifestyles. Last but not least, the foundation awarded seventeen grants in the area of social welfare in support of efforts focused on providing care to vulnerable populations.

"The continuing socioeconomic challenges strengthen our resolve to act decisively by supporting organizations whose work and actions have the potential to significantly contribute to building a better tomorrow for all."
