The funding will support many of the Minnesota-based retailer's long-standing partners, including the National Urban League and African American Leadership Forum, as well as new partners in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area and across the United States. In addition, the company has pledged up to ten thousand hours of pro bono consulting services to small businesses in the Twin Cities region owned by African Americans and people of color.
The company also will provide essential items such as baby formula, diapers, and medicine to communities in need and, through its loyalty program, Target Circle, will provide customers with the option of directing corporate funding to local nonprofits, including social justice organizations.
