Not On Our Watch

Not On Our Watch
Founded: 2007

To focus global attention and resources on putting an end to mass atrocities around the world.

About the Organization:
Founded in 2007 by Hollywood luminaries Don Cheadle, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, David Pressman, and Jerry Weintraub, Not On Our Watch develops advocacy campaigns that draw global attention to international crises and give voice to their victims.

Current Programs:
Not On Our Watch is currently focused on helping end the humanitarian crises in Darfur and Myanmar. In Darfur, Not On Our Watch grants have helped provide fuel-efficient stoves, build hospital clinics in hard-to-reach areas, and establish community spaces for victims of rape and violence. The organization also has engaged in advocacy efforts calling on Congress and the international community to take action to end the crisis. In Myanmar, advocacy and aid efforts have focused on the country's prisoners of conscience, many of whom have been jailed without trial and face torture while incarcerated; providing food, medical care, and education for refugees living on the Thai-Myanmar border; and relief efforts for victims of Cyclone Nargis, which devastated the country's Irrawaddy delta region in 2008.

Web Site:
The Not On Our Watch Web site includes background information and timelines related to the crises in Darfur and Myanmar; stunning photos and videos of the regions, as well as videos of the organization's founders speaking about the crises; and information on how to take action to help end mass atrocities.

Not On Our Watch receives funding from individuals and foundations.
