Minnesota Toolkit for Giving

Mission: To help potential donors relate the issues they most care about to charitable giving through the presentation of comprehensive, unbiased information.
Background:
Launched in 2000 by the Minnesota Council on Foundations, working with New Ventures in Philanthropy, the Minnesota Toolkit for Giving is a one-stop resource for potential and novice givers. Supported by eleven funders, the toolkit contains information provided by the Forum of Regional Grantmakers and the Northwest Giving Project.
Outstanding Web Features:
This toolkit Web site addresses the four "W's" of giving: why, where, what, and ways (summed up in a giving options chart) — as well as the all-important how much. The Web site also provides planning suggestions; resources, including those tailored to youth and professional advisors; and stories about the giving decisions and experiences of twelve Minnesotans.
