The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund honors the legacy of William G. McGowan, who believed that any person, if provided opportunities, has the potential to achieve. In that spirit, the fund today works to impact lives, create sustainable change, and empower future generations to achieve their greatest potential.
To that end, the fund is accepting proposals for projects that proactively address the problems faced by homeless individuals. Projects will be prioritized that promote sustainable self-sufficiency and stable lives anchored by living-wage jobs. Other areas supported by the fund include mental health, housing, food security, education and/or job training, life skills, parenting and/or personal budgeting training, and post-program participant follow-up.
To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and be located within the Denver metro area or Eagle County, Colorado (single-parent homelessness initiatives only); the Kansas City metro area; the Rochester metro area and Yates County in New York; or Lackawanna and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania.
Letters of Inquiry are due by November 15. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by January 2, 2020.
See the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
