Established in 1995, the Alaska Community Foundation cultivates, celebrates, and sustains all forms of philanthropy focused on strengthening Alaskan communities.
To that end, the foundation is accepting applications to its Anchorage Schools Foundation Grant program. Through the program, grants of up to $500 will be awarded in support of innovative or creative approaches to education that will impact students in the Anchorage School District. Previous grants have been awarded for the purchase of classroom supplies, recreational equipment and uniforms, books, technology, instruments, and other material needs that support enhanced student success. Special consideration will be given to projects that support current ASD initiatives such as innovative math projects, engaging seniors, supporting pre-K, safe schools, and service learning.
Eligible applicants include school professionals such as principals, teachers, nurses, counselors, administrators, and certified staff (although the authorizing official of the school should be the principal). Applicants must be working in the school where the grant project activities will take place.
See the Alaska Community Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
