The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards honor Jewish teens who demonstrate remarkable leadership and civic engagement through projects that embody the values of tikkun olam ("repairing the world"). The awards are funded by the Helen Diller Family Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund.
Through the program, up to fifteen recipients will be awarded $36,000 each to further their project or for their education.
To be eligible, candidates must be teenagers (13-19 years old) who self-identify as Jewish, live in the United States, and who are not compensated for their work. Projects may focus on the Jewish or general community.
Teens may apply directly online by submitting an application by January 8, 2020. Alternatively, teachers, rabbis, community leaders, or any individual aware of the value of the teen’s leadership may submit a nomination online by December 18, 2019. Nominated teens will then be asked to complete a full application.
