The New York Women's Foundation supports organizations and programs in the five boroughs of New York City with community-led solutions that help propel all women, girls, and gender non-conforming individuals living at/below the poverty level toward long-term economic security.
To that end, the Justice Fund at the New York Women’s Foundation welcomes applications focused on Community Engagement and Systems Change efforts and initiatives that impact women’s lives in one or more of the following focus areas:
Economic Justice — Organizations and programs that help women, girls, and gender non-binary people living at or below the poverty level to achieve and sustain economic security and advance economic justice through education, workforce development, work supports, business development/entrepreneurship, and asset building.
Anti-Violence and Safety — Organizations and programs that are working to eradicate gender-based violence and create safe communities for gender non-conforming individuals.
Health, Sexual Rights, and Reproductive Justice — Organizations and programs that recognize and promote health as a fundamental right and necessity for achieving and sustaining individuals’ complete mental, spiritual, political, economic, and social well-being.
To be eligible, applicants must be a tax-exempt nonprofit organization as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, and be in existence for at least six months.
