EBSCO is the leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscriptions, e-books and discovery service to libraries of all kinds. For more than seventy years, the company has partnered with libraries to improve research with quality content and technology and more recently it has donated part of its pre-tax profits to worthwhile projects, with a particular focus on the environment.
According to EBSCO, solar power is the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available and can help make a critical impact on improving the environment. To that end, EBSCO Solar is inviting applications from libraries seeking to fund a library solar project to offset electricity costs. EBSCO will pay for the initial installation through the grant, and the library, town, or college receiving the grant will own the system and be responsible for all post-installation/ongoing maintenance of the array. In 2020, three grants of $100,000 will be awarded.
Eligible applicants include all academic, school, and public libraries that are current EBSCO customers.
See the EBSCO website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
