The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation welcomes applications for its Wellborn Ecology Fund. Since 2013, the foundation has dedicated the fund’s resources to increasing environmental and ecological science knowledge in the Upper Valley as well as access to high-quality place-based ecology education in local schools, with an emphasis on K-8 education in underserved school districts such as Claremont, Mascoma, and Newport.
Through the fund, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in support of projects in the Upper Valley Region that increase environmental and ecological science knowledge.
To be eligible, applicants must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or be a school, municipality, or other subdivision of government. Organizations that do not have public charity status may apply if another charity acts as a fiscal sponsor.
See the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, a list of towns/districts eligible for a grant, and a list of past grant recipients.
