Evergy Invites Applications for COVID-19 Emergency Grants

Evergy is inviting applications to its COVID-19 Emergency Grants program.

The intent of this program is to provide support to agencies working on the front lines of the pandemic that have seen their costs increase and their normal revenue streams decline. To that end, operating, project, and program grants will be awarded to organizations in the Evergy service areas in Kansas and Missouri. Grants will support coordinated community programs to support those impacted by COVID-19 (such as housing, payment assistance, emergency relief, etc.); expanded and/or re-evaluated agency programming in support of those most impacted by COVID-19; funding to support client needs, cover costs associated with reduced staffing, increased technology for remote work due to quarantine/social distancing, and increased sanitation of facilities that serve clients; and coordination of in-kind goods and donations to sites and organizations that provide services for vulnerable populations.

To be eligible, applicants must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and be located in the Evergy service areas.

See the Evergy website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
