The American Psychological Foundation is inviting applications for its Wayne F. Placek Grant program.
Through the program, grants of up to $9,000 will be awarded for empirical research in any field of the behavioral or social sciences on any topic related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender issues.
The foundation encourages research that addresses the following topics: heterosexuals' attitudes and behaviors toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people, including prejudice, discrimination, and violence; family and workplace issues relevant to LGBT people; and special concerns of the LGBT population that historically have been underrepresented in scientific research.
To be eligible, applicants must be either a doctoral‐level researcher or a graduate student affiliated with an educational institution or 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization. Graduate students and early-career researchers are encouraged to apply.
See the American Psychological Foundation website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about past recipients.
