The Women's Foundation of Genesee Valley manages a permanent endowment fund in support of grantmaking expressly for women and girls, with a focus on funding and advocating for programs that support the growth and economic self-sufficiency of women and modeling equitable partnerships that encourage diversity and inclusivity.
To that end, the foundation welcomes applications from programs that promote the sustained economic self-sufficiency of women and assist women and girls in achieving economic self-sufficiency in the New York counties of Genesee, Monroe, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Yates, and Wayne. The foundation is especially interested in programs that support women’s progress toward economic self-sufficiency. Economic self-sufficiency is defined by the foundation in terms of income adequacy (i.e., the level of income necessary to meet basic needs).
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations that are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or those that have a fiscal agent with such status. Organizations must be located in the New York counties of Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Genesee, Orleans, Yates, or Livingston and serve women or girls in one of those counties.
See the Women's Foundation of Genesee Valley website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
