The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation is accepting applications for its Bud and Linda Tarrson Fellowship program.
The fellowship is a $30,000 award ($10,000 a year, for up to three years) for periodontists pursuing a career in academia and is not intended to replace support that would normally have been provided by the recipient's institution.
To be eligible, applicants must be either a full-time faculty member at the instructor or assistant level or a part-time faculty member at an institution of higher education in the United States. Eligible candidates must have been affiliated for ten years or less with a degree-granting institution and have a career goal focused on teaching and research in periodontology. Applications will be accepted only from candidates at U.S. institutions.
The top three candidates must attend the AAP annual meeting, where they will be interviewed preceding the opening of the meeting.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the AAP Foundation website.
